Direct Speech

“Do you think schools should provide breakfast in schools?”
asked Mrs Evelyn.
“Of course schools should provide breakfast,” answered Mrs S.

“Do you know how many kids leave home without the yummy, healthy and a nutrition breakfast?”
wondered Mrs Evelyn.
“Yes about 15% of kids leave home without breakfast,” gasped Mrs S.

“How do you feel when kids don’t get breakfast in the morning?”
moaned Mrs Evelyn.
“I feel sad because it might affect the students learning,” responded Mrs S.

“Do you think the parents should be responsible for their kids?”
“Yes because they are the ones who send their kids to school hungry, that they should think about feeding them before they're learning,” screamed Mrs S

“ Do you think having breakfast is healthy or not healthy?”
said Mrs Evelyn.

“I think having breakfast is healthy because it has the right nutrition for the day and it makes kids get switched on their learning,” replied Mrs S.

As you can see here is my direct speech all about conversation's by using speech marks. I have been talking about Should We Provide Breakfast For All New Zealand Schools.

  1. Hi Evelyn, well done on your direct speech task. You have remembered the 3 important rules of speech marks because you are able to correctly punctuate direct speech. Well done :)
