Leadership With Lynne Le Gros - By Evelyn

Today all LS2 student had a leadership session with a woman from the spark. Her name was Lynne Le Gros. She first introduce herself. Next we had a discussion about our role model that we look up to so we list he role model leader with reason why.
My Role Model message was :

Mum - she always will be there when we need her & she takes care no matter what happens.

Our next task was to think of our own dream - write it down, then write what we wanted New Zealand to be like.

My dream: I dream that I could become the first top gymnastic and to become the top dancer in the royal family ( Paris Globel  )

At the end we all got given a special gift bag with goodies that we had to choose. We had to choose a colour bottle, colour note book, colour bag, also a colour pen with a colour bag.

We will all like to say a huge thank you!

Speech Rubric

Good Morning, my name is Evelyn. Racism. What is the purpose? In many people's thought they think that racism is offending people the way they look within who they are. Don't skip to the point get straight with it.

First Point: On average people dig verbal abusive word within racism thinking their emotions would vanished in second, minutes, even days. Often people begin to thing it's a theory that human abilities are determined by race. Imagine being mocked at school because you're "different". No one likes to be left out, but then, why do you judge? Why do pass the torch of unforgiving hate? Why do you discriminate?

Second Point: Everywhere you go, everywhere you look there's always somebody different. For a fact, many of us focus on differences and not on similarities of other people. Racial discrimination involves any act where a person is treated unfairly because of their race, colour, national, religion or belief. In all holly books, it mentioned that all people are created equal, so who are we to judge?

Third Point: The reason why I am here to to make you understand that racial discrimination is an immoral act. People might put us into situations where their skills or abilities might be in question, either in school at work or in public places.

Conclusion: But there is a challenge in this for all of us. We share common humanity, and we all have a role in respecting the right of all to enjoy it equally, with dignity and with the same opportunities to thrive. So why not make a difference.

Today students from LS2 presented  their speech in there group. This screen shot up above is my my rubric that shows what i'm good at and what I need to work on. The topic of my speech is about Racism, and why we need to understand why racism is bad for our environment.
